Top 3 Reasons Why You Should Go to Bulobadiangan Island

Sand Bar Beach Resort at Bulobadiangan Island

A few years back, Bulobadiangan Island was a virgin island destination with no cottages around, only tall palm trees, thick mangroves, and a few houses at the foot of the mountain. I remember we used to buy “uga” or dry fish here every time we go island hopping. Today, this island is still as lovely as ever only that it has opened its doors (and sand bar) wider to the general public.

Concepcion is one of the farthest towns in Iloilo. It takes around two and a half hours to get here by bus or one and a half hours by private transport. People often associate the town with dried fish and squid. But today, it has become even more popular because people have finally realized the beauty of nature this town has kept hidden for years.

Bulobadiangan Island has transformed into an ultimate beach destination in northern Iloilo with the opening of Sand Bar Beach Resort. The long stretch of white sand composed of pulverized corals and seashells has attracted local and international tourists. Today, you can never really say you’ve been to Concepcion without dropping by this very enticing island.

If you still haven’t been to Bulobadiangan Island, here are three reasons to convince you why it’s the place to be when you visit Concepcion:

   1.    Perfect for swimming and snorkeling
Bulobadiangan’s famous sand bar is perfect for swimming. In fact, you can either swim on the left or right part of the sand bar especially when it’s low tide and it’s at its longest. During high tide, you can dive into the blue waters and swim with colorful fishes.

If you want to see corals of different shapes, sizes, and shades then you’re sure to find them in Bulobadiangan Island. You never have to snorkel too far to see them because they’re just a few feet from shore, specifically in the area facing Danao-Danao Island.

2.    Commune with nature
Imagine spending the day or night in an almost secluded island with only the singing of the birds, rustling of leaves on the trees, and gentle roar of waves crashing to shore to entertain you. Indeed, you’ll feel closer to nature than ever before. If you get tired swimming, you can take a walk along the shore or go trekking around the island. And since they only turn on the generator in the evening from six to ten, you will appreciate the peace and quiet which you’re deprived of in the city.

3.    Budget friendly

Bulobadiangan Island is the best option for those who are traveling or vacationing on a budget. Why spend thousands of pesos on expensive resorts when you can still have fun and enjoy everything nature has to offer at a cheaper price? Sand Bar Beach Resort has cottages that can cater to the solo traveler to large groups. Their cottages start from P800 and in case you’ll be camping on your tent, you only pay P200. Entrance fee is at P20 each, not bad at all.

Bulobadiangan Island has everything nature has to offer. It is home to white sand beach, rich marine life, and thick forest. To top it all of, it is more affordable compared to other island resorts in the country. So what more can you ask for?
